SVA investment wins social enterprise award

The Integrated Medical Centre (TIMC) in Melbourne has been recognised at the 2014 Social Enterprise Awards, winning the Social Enterprise Investment category, along with investors Social Ventures Australia (SVA).

TIMC is a GP and allied health clinic owned by CoHealth, one of the largest community health organisations in Australia, servicing a broad area of high-growth communities across Melbourne’s northern, western and inner suburbs. CoHealth provides quality services across mental health, oral health, family violence, alcohol and other drugs, aged care and medical and integrated health services.

TIMC’s profits will be used to subsidise free and below-cost community health services offered by CoHealth. Financing for the TIMC project came from a syndicate consisting of CoHealth’s own funds, SVA through its Social Impact Fund (SIF) and Social Traders.
