Queensland
ACT
SVA, together with its partners, launched the first Social Enterprise Hub in Brisbane in 2006. The Hub has delivered impressive results to the community, assisting over 40 social enterprises.

In 2009 the original Brisbane Hub was expanded beyond Brisbane to include Logan and Ipswich and was renamed the Queensland Hubs. This follows the successes of the Brisbane Hub, including the 2008 Accelerator program, where eight enterprises were provided with intensive support, resulting in the employment of 159 people who had previously been excluded from mainstream employment.

Who are our partners?
The Queensland Social Enterprise Hubs are made up of different partnerships between SVA, Brisbane City Council, Ipswich City Council, Logan City Council and the Queensland Government (Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation).
PricewaterhouseCoopers Foundation provided initial funding for the Brisbane Hub and the Allco Foundation provided development funding for the Ipswich and Logan Hubs. JA Com has recently become a philanthropic match funder.
Pro bono support is crucial to the Hubs’ success and is a large part of what is offered by way of support to the social enterprises. The following organisations provide this much needed service:
- PricewaterhouseCoopers Foundation
- Mallesons
- Cirrus
